Ferguson was duped into publicly criticising UFC president White by a phony comment about Nurmagomedov's unsuccessful fight

After being deceived by phony remarks attributed to Dana White, former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has publicly blasted his boss.

When 'El Cucuy' was brutally knocked out by Michael Chandler at UFC 274 last month, he suffered his fourth consecutive defeat.

Since then, Ferguson has attempted to reignite his feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov, a retired UFC legend, and has even offered that the two settle their differences by coaching together on The Ultimate Fighter [TUF].

TUF is an MMA reality program in which a bunch of competitors battle for a UFC contract under the supervision of two renowned stars who serve as opposing coaches.

Ferguson and 'The Eagle' were scheduled to fight five times, but due to a series of misfortunes, they never met in the UFC, and the fight now appears to be dead as Nurmagomedov has retired.

The concept of Ferguson and Nurmagomedov coaching on the upcoming season of TUF has been embraced by the UFC president, but someone has decided to make bogus statements regarding the situation and ascribe them to White.

"For years, Khabib Nurmagomedov avoided Tony Ferguson. But now that Tony Ferguson is washed up, there's a high chance he'll fight him," White has been wrongly accused of stating.

Ferguson came saw the comment and immediately resorted to social media to express his displeasure: "Washed up? I'll give it to you, Dana White, you washed up...washed these nuts. I'm p***** now."

The 37-year-old has long had a tense relationship with White, and has frequently used his pre-fight interviews to criticize the UFC president — and he did it again before his most recent fight.

"Dana used to make me feel like a jerk for gaining weight. But he made me feel like s*** for a long time, and when somebody make you feel like that for a long time, you almost believe it," Ferguson said ahead of UFC 274.

"I'm not standing here giving him the finger, but I'm sitting here like, 'I'm going to do me for me now, and you're going to watch me.'" I'm not attempting to be unhappy any longer because I simply can't do it."
