Haney: Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis 'make me thrilled,' says Haney. Ryan Garcia isn't looking for a battle.

After capturing George Kambosos' lightweight championships, undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney may be contractually obligated to face him again. The undefeated 23-year-old, on the other hand, isn't ruling out a battle that breaks new ground in the sport.

"We're not ruling anything out just because I signed up for the rematch," Haney said after unanimously defeating Kambosos in Melbourne to add the WBA (super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight belts to his WBC (super) title. "I'm not avoiding or ducking anyone." We want to make major fights happen because I'll fight whomever and everywhere."

Haney is cautious to dismiss Kambosos as a threat, though it's likely that he might arrange step-aside money for his former opponent to fight other big names like Lomachenko and WBA regular champion Gervonta Davis.

"Of course, the Lomachenko fight," Haney stated when a
sked about his most desired matches. That's a massive battle. But they're all exciting to me. Davis and Lomachenko are at the top of the list because they are the most logical choices. I don't think other males are like that."

For the time being, former interim WBC lightweight champion Ryan Garcia, who instantly mocked Haney's victory on Twitter and challenged Davis to a fight, is not on the list. Garcia's next opponent is Javier Fortuna, but he has hinted at a fight with "Tank."

A belt taken from Davis or Garcia would add a lot to Haney's resume and a lot of money to his bank account. He is, however, pessimistic about Garcia's chances of reclaiming the title.

"I seriously doubt that," Haney remarked. "I'm not sure Ryan wants to fight anyone." Of course, he does it all the time. That is exactly what he does. He'll send out a barrage of tweets and call all of these fighters out. The guy said he'd fight [Manny] Pacquiao - now, come on.

"The guy hires fighters to publicize his battle, and after he beats a noob, he fights another noob." As a result, he is stuck in a cycle. I don't really pay attention to him since I can read between the lines. I don't believe he wants to fight anyone."

Haney has two more fights with the Top Rank promotion, which he joined in order to fight Kambosos. Even if he had to go back and redo his most recent feat, he claims he will be motivated.

"I'm the indisputable lightweight champion, and I've got a lot to defend and a lot to be driven for – to remain the best in the division," he added. "As a result, you never take anybody for granted...." Everyone wants your head when you're at the top."
